Use My Pronouns!

This is not your typical piece from a Trans Woman on being misgendered. Or, at least not the way you think.

I have been living as my true self for some time now. I blend. I'm assimilated. No one has ever challenged my right to be in a Women's Restroom. On the rare occasion that someone calls me 'him', they always quickly apologize and correct themselves.

That said, it is far more common for people to not gender me at all. At restaurants or stores, staff will gender the person before me 'ma’am' or 'sir'…
